Why design
Steve Jobs once said that “The way we are gonna ratchet up our species is to take the best and to spread it around everybody so that everybody grows up with better things and starts to understand the subtlety of these better things.” It deeply motivated and inspired me. I find joy in intentionality, simplicity and extraordinary taste; I believe that the best products should be deeply connected with people, culture and are imbued with the spirit of enlightenment and that aesthetics is an important part of usability. Fundamentally, I want to inspire, elevate and transform through design.

I excel at uncovering latent user needs through user research, defining product and design strategies and transforming them into products that deliver great user experiences. And I always strive to bring my knowledge from other domains into my designs.

Testimonials
“Charles is a hard working and conscientious designer who took on a complex project in a very short amount of time. I tasked him with exploring a key part of a vision that will affect Google Lens in the coming years. Charles excelled at ramping up quickly, connecting dots from across the company, and asking the right questions in order to create a compelling project strategy. He followed through on his plan and found the right scope in order to complete the project on time. At the end of the internship he gave a compelling final presentation to a group of stakeholders which outlined his strategy with rationale and a walk through of the key user journeys that he identified. With his work ethic and ambition, Charles will be a great designer on any product team.”
“Charles worked with us for only three months, but made a lasting impact. I managed Charles during his internship with the creative and product teams at Some Spider. Within a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines, he led crucial user research and testing sessions that informed major decisions in Scary Mommy’s site redesign and experience. He also conducted competitor analysis, did a deep dive into our content history, and audited our site's taxonomy and categorization. He partnered directly with our site design lead to prototype mobile and desktop designs. At every review, we could rely on Charles to present thorough and thoughtful observations and recommendations to key stakeholders across the business. We were truly bummed when his time with us came to an end. Charles is a standout.”
